Professor Mok was trained at the University of Alberta and subsequently completed his fellowship in medical oncology at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. After working in a community based oncology practice in Toronto for seven years, Professor Mok started his academic career at the Department of Clinical Oncology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1996. He is now a Professor in the department. He is also an Honorary Professor at GuongTong Province People’s Hospital in Guangzhou and a Guest Professor at Peking University School of Oncology, Beijing Cancer Hospital, China.
Professor Mok has been very active in both clinical and laboratory research in lung cancer, liver cancer and traditional Chinese medicine. He is the Founder of the Lung Cancer Research Group, one of the first multicentre lung cancer study groups in the Asia Pacific region. He chairs the Hong Kong Cancer Therapy Society and is an executive committee member of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology. In addition, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the International Association on Study of Lung Cancer.
An Associate Editor of the Journal of Thoracic Oncology and Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, Professor Mok has contributed to over 140 original articles in international peers review journals and book chapters.
